The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim (2024)
KT Mahe
Interesting addition to a well beloved series with cool animation and focus on the Rohirrim. The story is enough to carry the intentions but layering the motivations of the perceived 'good' or 'bad' parties could have elevated the film further.

The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim (2024)

With Miyazaki-esque charm, Hera proves a strong and capable leader. Wulf brings unexpected heart, making him a surprisingly rootable antagonist. Well-paced and deeply resonant.

Solo Leveling – ReAwakening- (2024)
KT Mahe
Reawakening covers much ground with introducing new audiences, recapping existing and enticing all with what’s to come. The world and character building are top tier.

Solo Leveling – ReAwakening- (2024)
Oti
A thrilling return that expands the world and deepens our connection to Sung Jin-woo. The emotional core remains strong, while the action is amped up to new heights. A must-watch for fans of the series and newcomers alike.
Rated: 4/5 •
Out of My Mind (2024)
KT Mahe
A coming of age film that centres the experiences of a young girl with cerebral palsy. There is a lot of care and compelling storytelling methods to convey Melody’s emotional journey.
Rated: 4.5/5 •
Creature Commandos: Season 1 (TV, 2024)
KT Mahe
James Gunn does it again with a new misfit crew to pour our hearts into. While there have been more than a few animated shows for adults in the recent years, not many do it better than Creature Commandos!

Creature Commandos: Season 1 (TV, 2024)
Oti
The most cinematic show on tv. Elevates the game to a level where I thought it wasn’t even possible.
Rated: 5/5 •
The Moogai (2024)
KT Mahe
Tapping into Indigenous lore and an ensemble of well beloved talent carry a considered lens. At times, it felt as though, the potential to dig deeper was simplified for a broader understanding.
Rated: 3.5/5 •
The Moogai (2024)
Oti
Delivers a compelling setup and shines as an Indigenous horror story. Strong performances anchor the film, but its unrealised potential leaves lingering “why” questions.
Rated: 3.5/5 •
Wicked (2024)
KT Mahe
Wicked leads with heart, speaks to the misunderstood in us and finds the perfect balance of honouring the beloved world and standing out on its own.
Rated: 4.5/5 •
The Franchise: Season 1 (TV, 2024)
KT Mahe
The Franchise plays it straight in a zany world that is spiralling out of control. The characters have unique voices that play well to the chaos of filmmaking.
Rated: 4/5 •
Red One (2024)
KT Mahe
Red One may be wrapped differently but brings the same warm festive cheer needed during the merry season. A bit of action and a lot of heart.
Rated: 3/5 •
Venom: The Last Dance (2024)
KT Mahe
An adequate goodbye to a fun trilogy that dared to have fun before the world building got too serious.
Rated: 3/5 •
Venom: The Last Dance (2024)
Oti
A missed opportunity for a great send-off. Too many new elements made it feel like a reset instead of a finale. Still fun, but lacked the punch I hoped for.
Rated: 3/5 •
Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021)
KT Mahe
Let There Be Carnage allowed itself to tap into human emotions without the manipulation of family friendly fanfare. Sure, it’s a simple cautionary tale of how far you will go but love but it is also bolstered by the power of friendship.
Rated: 4/5 •
Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021)
Oti
The best of the series—crazy, fun, and full of Brock and Venom’s dynamic. Skipping heavy world-building lets us dive into their characters. Hits all the right notes!
